Bollywood in Northeast – films shot in Northeast India

Bollywood is an indispensable part of India. A number of the movies are shot in exotic locales of India as well as abroad. But northeast India has been given a cold shoulder by the Bollywood producers. The reason seems to the remote location and closeness to the border area. Lack of luxurious resorts also seems to be another reason for it.

There are quite a number of films that are based on the northeastern states but have been shot somewhere else. Films like Dil Se, Tango Charlie and of late Mary Kom and Jagga Jassos were shot elsewhere, even though based in the northeastern state.
